Stokes and Baz have backed themselves into a bit of a corner being so loyal to Bashir and are possibly too stubborn to admit they have got it wrong.Especially given the way he was selected in the first place. But he shouldn’t be learning his trade in International matches.

I’m always a fan of picking the best spinner available, which is Jack Leach. That being said I wouldn’t complain at Dawson being selected. Very good spinner and bats well. Both miles clear of Bashir, that’s for sure.

Dawson at 8 adds so much depth considering he's good enough to bat top 7. Then pick your best 3 quicks for the pitch you see, batting doesn't matter anymore. I'd bring Haines in for Crawley and seriously consider Bethell for Pope, although before lunch he dug in well.
