She worked with the Igbo side properly and never won. Then she made a movie with Yoruba people and won—and you still don’t see the Yoruba influence? 😂 Your comprehension is seriously lacking. And regarding Motola, she never said she wanted her chased out. She was only talking about the lead voice of the song and the background tune, not removing her from the entire movie. Please understand what you’re watching before jumping into an argument. Honestly, the level of basic comprehension some of you are displaying is embarrassing.

Some of you guys have serious comprehension problem. The production is centered around Dahomey's culture; predominant language spoken there is Egun and Yoruba. The Egun lady represented well however the person handling the Yoruba part was supposed to say some things in Yoruba, however she started saying Ewo oo!!! Chimo oo!! That's culture misappropriation. There's a Yoruba there who can take the Yoruba part and the Igbo handle the pidgin English part! It is that simple. Always looking to stir up tribal sentiments is crazy!! Imagine a movie about Arochukwu is made today, the Ikwerre person delivered and the Igbo role was given to a Benin man and he started using an edoid language to depict Igbo while an Igbo man is right there and a role that fits the Benin man which is pidgin is equally available. What will you do as an Igbo man?? Be truthful please?? Hollywood has a way of stereotyping us; if they must do it at all, let them do it correctly!! Movies are archives for the future!! What Omotola is saying, is Hollywood's deliberate and absolute disregard of the intricate nuances that makes Nigeria/Africa what it is! Hollywood misrepresents the way we talk, the way we dress and the annoying wakada-esque narratives they always want to push. Now you went to set ringlight left the big elephant in the room and went on a tribal jamboree!! Continue!! Your turn will come

It was wrong of her to have suggested the lady's replacement.

Omotala was silly with her comments. She deserves the online reaction.

Move. You are only wasting your time. What you are ranting about is insignificant, and you are simply craving unnecessary attention. Next time, produce your ethnic historical movie and put a Yorùbá person as the lead actor. Once you have successfully done that, you can return to rant again and call people names. You accused someone of not using emotional intelligence, yet you are relying purely on emotion where you should be using your senses. Noisemaking doesn’t make you right.

She didn't ask her to be sent away. She asked for "Round Pegs in Round Holes". She said let Egun speak Egun correctly. She said let Yoruba speakers speak yoruba. Let the lady do pidgin. It was a Voiceover. As 4 d Supo,if it dosn't matter y not kúkú do it well

Why ibo actor wan speak Yoruba by forcê?Are ibos really unfortunatê ni?Later when the movie is released people will be complaining that wakanda doesn’t have Africanaccent, they don’t know some people behind the scenes are taking roles not meant for them,usêless nepotistic people😂

One thing I notice is karma love to show Igbo people shege, I hope if one day karma decided to make it a way that they make ojukuwu movie about Biafra war and the actor who act as ojukwu often speak Yoruba in it u won’t cry

I get your point, but the Chioma illustration, she was igbo married to a yoruba. The expectation of her character to speak yoruba wouldn't have been as much as if she was casted to be a yoruba woman, thats where this your comparison would have been more appropriate.

Based on the Chioma illustration you gave us as an example, it simply shows that you don’t understand what you’re talking about. Imagine if Femi Adebayo pick Hausa girl to acted that role as Igbo woman to tell Igbo stories and Chioma play a back up role. Think abt that!

Liliana My Sister If You Never Marry Ehnnn God Must Make Sure The Best Of Us Go Marry You Some Peter Gregory Obi 🤔 Must Locate You If You Don Marry Then Your Husband Must Meta' To Obi' As Blessing For You ---🐉🌶️

All these grammar is waste of time, Omotota only asked for round peg to be put in round hole. Your message is more of bashing Omotota and praise Chioma, not because you want to be objective. Na you lack emotional intelligence

Olu Jacob and Alex Usifo have acted Igwe & Eze in many Igbo films. Non of Igbo actors like, Pete Edochie, Kanayo O Kanayo or chiwetalu Agu. Ever go beyond their back to conderm them like Omotola did.

You are wiser than VDM, he was gaslighting the Igbo people without understanding the message they are passing to the actress.

When you are on a movie set, you don’t speak to your colleague on correction, it’s the director you speak to.

You are right, professionalsm and intelligence. Movie that is not yours, that you are just a character picked same way every other actors where selected and you think you can correct the director and producer?

Shvvvt up please What are you bashing her for exactly? Asking thr producer to do something the right way?

So you guys have successfully turn this shot interview into Tribal war?

Olu Jacob acted in so many Igbo rules that some people was even asking is he Igbo. So I agree with you sis 100%

A lot of people have mental problems online. She was talking about a single scene. Where she thinks the lady who cam speak thw language fluently should lead, while other speak pidgin. What part of that interview implies she wants anyone sacked from the production? She said there are other Africans there as well and they should all speak pidgin and not shout "chimo" for egun scene. Are you people ok?

Na your Beauty I just dey look Lilian Ogechi.

Thank you my sister for educating them. Let me share this here...The distinction is pretty straightforward: Accuracy is about whether the cultural representation itself is correct. If a character is specifically supposed to be speaking Yoruba and the dialogue contains expressions from another language, it’s reasonable to say, “That isn’t accurate; correct the dialogue, pronunciation, casting, or cultural detail.” Gatekeeping goes further. It says, in effect, “Because you are not from this ethnic group, you shouldn’t be the one performing or contributing to this part,” even when an actor could potentially perform it accurately with proper coaching and direction. So the key question is what is being corrected: the performance or the person? Saying “That Yoruba line is wrong; it should be said this way” is an accuracy argument. Saying “There’s a Yoruba person here, so give that part to them instead” moves toward ethnic gatekeeping because ethnicity becomes the qualification rather than whether the performer can execute the role authentically. There’s also an important nuance: casting someone from the represented culture can absolutely improve authenticity, especially when language, accent, and cultural knowledge are central to the role. But that is different from claiming that only members of that ethnic group are entitled to portray it. For the argument you’re having, a strong formulation would be: “Cultural accuracy asks Hollywood to get Yoruba right. Gatekeeping asks Hollywood to decide who is allowed to portray Yoruba based on ethnicity. Those are not the same argument.”

God bless you my sister, Very Dark Man will always play his script against Igbo. Why don't Omotola teach or correct the fellow actor than going behind to snitch her which is the usual character of a Yoruba people

U guys are grazy so a person who can’t pronounce well should be left to just do rubbish

They're professional, if a movie producer told you to act as American they don't have to go to USA 🇺🇸 to get someone to do it, you have to act it, that's why you're professional

Exactly

You're beautiful nwannem

I think some of you are just dumb honestly

Omotola might not have any bad thing in mind to do that but it was wrong call by her

Thank you @Adaigboglobal for excellent clarification.#Daalu

Fish brains wan twist the narrative 😂😂 when did she mentioned "send her away" she only asked them to let her do the pidgin part

Please check why Pete Edochie was casted as Okonkwo in Things Fall Apart instead of Emma Edokpayi who performed better in the audition; LANGUAGE!

She never asked the Igbo lady to be sent away. Stop with all these agendas.
