Leigh-Anne opens up about her difficult year, leaving Warner, and signing an independent deal with Virgin: “It’s ‘Been A Minute’ since I’ve [filmed] one of these. If I’m being honest, I feel like I was avoiding this video. It’s been a weird start to the year. I was going through a bit of a weird time with [Warner]… it’s a whole thing. I couldn’t really say anything, so it just seemed like, ‘Where’s Leigh-Anne? Where’s the music? What’s going on?’ I obviously left my label; I’m now signed with Virgin. I’m fully independent, guys! But honestly, it’s been the most amazing thing for me. I feel like it just needed to happen, to be honest. I’ve been in this industry for how long now? What’s the point in doing it if I’m not doing it my way? So that’s all positive now, and I feel really excited and really good. But when that was all happening and I was in the midst of it all, I lost both of my dogs in the space of a month. It’s just crazy. It was unexpected and they’re literally like my babies. They’re part of the family. Losing both of them in such a short space of time was vile. I’m still coming to terms with it now. It’s just been a weird time. But I think the reason why I wanted to do this video is because, sometimes when you’re going through something and you really can’t see the light, it doesn’t feel like you’re going to be be okay again… You will. fromis_9’s Hayoung and Nagyung give a spoiler about the July comeback Hayoung: For this comeback, I personally think it’s “fromis_9’s first unveiling?” it feels like us showing something new for the first time. Nagyung: It has a slightly sexy touch, when I first heard the demo of this song, I think it was more like huh? This song is really sexy in some way. Of course it’s a bright song, and really summery though there’s about one spoon of sexiness in the song, it felt like a burn. But once we started recording, it felt like that feeling had been watered down a bit Hayoung: Right, but I like it a bit better. When put in Korean (the demo was in English before) it felt like it became more refreshing.

You have no idea how many times we’ve heard from someone “Millennium was my first concert!” It’s hard to say this on behalf of ourselves, but it seems like this album defined a generation in some ways. Watching the way you showed up then, we knew you’d show up now. There was no doubt in our minds that if we made this, you would come. Not only was that time back in ‘99 special for each of you, but it was special for the five of us as well. It was arguably some of the best times of our lives. It was the moment we knew that the dream we had wanted for so long was becoming a reality. Everything we had worked for was coming into clear vision. 🐯 since we’re going to celebrate our 4th anniversary soon, lets talk about our debut days. It was the live broadcast that time, 7th August, 6PM. Everyone was crying, I couldn’t believe it at that time, like, “is it real?” it’s like, I felt like I still can’t do anything. “would I become a help to the team once i debut? will I be that kind of existence?” I remembered that I felt a sense of uneasiness that time. Thats why, when we went to MAMA awards & received our rookie award, it was from there that I gained my confidence, I had no confidence at all before that. I was really thankful that time & really… “I really want to repay these people”, & thinking that they’re really our fans woah… that time we couldn’t even hear the audience cheering too right? because of the pandemic? the audience was not there even when we performed. It’s like we have fans but we don’t know but at the same time we know? how to communicate that well with them. But that time, we really wanted to repay teumes, we want to do everything that teumes wanted us to do… first of all, we want to make teumes happy! during TRACE concert too! It was our first ever audience, although cheering was not allowed, still, seeing that there was an audience in front of us while we performed… yeah I had red hair that time too. It was my best weight loss period ever. Then, when I looked back again, there’s a lot of memories. That one, we will talk about it once we celebrate our 4th year anniversary. 🐯 by the way, I really want to do everything for teumes. Its already our 4th anniversary. It’s like for 2 years- I feel like we- I feel like it's only been 2 years? but 4 years has already passed. as much as that our level of trust now is building gradually right? with me, teumes, & us. It’s like, the relationship between us, it was different than before. It’s hard for me to put it into words, but I feel like our relationship is strong? It’s like, although someone pull hard, its not that easy to unravel it? I think our relationship has become like that~? let’s go for a long time teumes~ it’s embarrassing for me to say this but I am thankful. I want to become a help to teumes if something happens to teumes. Since I am a person who repays as much as what I received… this live too, I hope it becomes your strength, that too I am thankful for it. I am really proud of you teume-ya😭 teumes yoshi yoshi~🫳 we’re going to be okay, we will be a TREASURE that TEUMES is proud of.

on how #jungwon started writing dear me: 😺 i once added a moon emoji to my wv profile, and that was actually from back when I was working on dear me. 😺 while i was out taking walks, i spent a lot of time looking up at the moon. 😺 the crescent moon caught my eye. sometimes it looked like it was smiling, and other times it looked like it was crying. but when I tried to zoom in to take a photo, it actually looked like a full moon. 😺 it made me realize that everything really depends on how you choose to give it meaning. that’s how i started writing the lyrics for dear me.
