Imagine being dark-skinned in Egypt, standing in the land of your ancestors, only to have some Arabs tell you that you are not native and must be from Sudan. That kind of identity policing is wild, especially when Arabs themselves are not indigenous to Egypt or the rest of Africa. What makes it worse is that these same racist lighter-skinned Arab Egyptians will question the origins of dark-skinned Egyptians, then turn around and claim direct descent from the ancient Egyptians. If people want to say “modern Egyptians descend from ancient Egyptians,” they need to be more specific and honest about the ethnic lineages. Egypt was not untouched by foreign settlement or conquest. Persians, Greeks/Macedonians under the Ptolemies, Romans/Byzantines, Arabs, Kurds under the Ayyubids, Mamluk military slaves, and Ottoman Turks all ruled, settled, or left their population in Egypt at different points. So dark-skinned Egyptians alone should never be treated as foreigners in a land that has always been deeply connected to Africa and the Nile Valley. The hypocrisy is the problem: some Arabs want to claim ancient Egypt when it gives them prestige, but reject dark-skinned Egyptians when their appearance does not fit the image they prefer to be advertised for their country.

Being rich is not FU MONEY. (sorry for the low volume. there are critters around me) There are many people in this space who are "rich". But they are not free. If you ask a lot of people "What does it mean to be free?" you get 3 core principles. "Being free means to do what I want, when I want, and with whom I want." 1. To do "what you want" you have to know yourself and what makes you happy and fulfilled. To have purpose. 2. "When I want" means time. This is you most precious gift, pleb. I see my last block out there on the horizon being mined. Don't waste time. Understand when you have enough, and get on with your life. 3. "With whom I want" means you need to cultivate deep friendships NOW so that at the end of your life people remember you as someone they admired and loved. There are people in this Bitcoin space who will never have enough things, or enough Bitcoin. They will stand in front of you at a Bitcoin conference and never engage with you while "working the room" with their eyes. You can have FU MONEY sooner than you think. Think quietly on the above and realize it is not a number. It's what is between your ears and in your heart.

When I was on the JRE, Joe asked me about the epic of Gilgamesh and the Noah’s Ark story. Are there parallels? Yes! But those parallels are less one copying from the other and more emblematic of the reality of a story (the biblical one I would contend being the authentic narrative) having a cultural rememberance within the parallel groups of the Ancient Near East. The fact that multiple ancient cultures have their own similar although not exact great flood stories indicates that something probably did take place. The cataclysm is their heritage and so they remember said heritage by including it in their oral and written traditions. Acknowledging the similarities (while also pointing out the differences) isn’t a threat to the authenticity is the biblical story, it’s actually an asset to its reliability!
