Mr. Wonderful, I believe it is not the intention of the Carney liberals to attract private capital. The liberal budget calls for massive increases in government debt. Their plan is for an energy superpower, non-conventional ie. alternative energy. This is about transitioning away from fossil fuels. Most of the technology is unproven so the government will take this on themselves. It is a non-market economy, the point I believe you have missed.

It was historic, no question about it. A unique set of circumstances, imputed by Trump's constant barbing at Canada as the 51st state. It gave a unique opportunity for Carney, and I think he did a masterful job in getting people in every province to forget about the Liberal's track record, and focus on Trump. Now, there are two impediments right now. Number one is C-69, a bill that has forced capital away from Canada because there's no way to get any kind of infrastructure or resource-based development done under C-69, and the Liberals proved that. They were able to kill off any investment in resources over a 10-year period. Then there’s this carbon tax on industrial development. Sovereign wealth is not interested when they can go to Texas and avoid that, and that's where they're going. You've seen all these announcements around all kinds of projects south of the border. This is how hidden carbon taxes still exist in Canada. And are passed along to the consumer. Producers are forced to comply with new government regulations that kick in, and if they can't, they must use carbon credits that they have to purchase. All of these things are costs paid by the producer, which are ultimately passed downstream to the consumer. This is Canada's new carbon tax that we will be paying at the pump.

Because a sovereign wealth fund — by definition — is built from surplus. Money left over after the government pays its bills. Canada does not have a surplus. Canada is running a histofically high deficit. Carney pointed to Norway. Singapore. Saudi Arabia. Those countries built their funds from budget surpluses largely resource revenue. At the Forever Canada rally, I asked a man why he supports staying in Canada. He started by talking ranting about something he heard about in the bible that he doesn't like. Apparently that has something to do about why Alberta should stay in Canada. I asked him if I should be allowed to have my religious beliefs as he was mocking me. Then I asked about Bill C-9, online speech laws, metadata collection, and the push toward government ID to access the internet under the excuse of protecting children. His response was basically: I trust the government and everything is ok... That is the problem. Too many Forever Canada supporters are attached to a sentimental idea of Canada, while blindly accepting censorship, surveillance, control, and federal intrusion. “Canada forever” means “just surrender forever.” Is this is really the future you want? Our Government running to China & having meetings with car manufacturers there is not just an irritant to the U.S. but also Japan. Japan does not agree with Carney’s “middle powers” nonsense as they rely on the U.S. economy, and if Canada wants to continue to have Japanese auto manufacturing in Canada, the USMCA deal is essential for that. Our Government is playing a dangerous game.

This Filipino Albertan supports Alberta independence because he recognizes what is happening in Canada. He came here in 1994. He loved Canada. He raised the Canadian flag proudly. But now he says this is not the same country anymore. Government overreach. Fear of speaking openly. Rising costs. Politicians who take more and give less back to the people. Many immigrants came to Canada because they wanted freedom, opportunity, and honest government. When they start warning us that Canada is beginning to look like the places they left, we should listen. Alberta independence is about recognizing the direction Canada is going and choosing a better future before it is too late. I support Alberta independence.
