The PC Engine CD was the world’s first CD-ROM game console, which means its launch title also earned a place in history as the first game released for a CD-ROM console. That game was Fighting Street, a port of the original Street Fighter.

The soundtrack of that port was really good!

😆👌

We had Fighting Street for our TurboDuo and it was so bad. Probably the worst fighting game I’ve played in my life. But, like everything, it was a beginning. What came after it told its own story.

I agree with that👏

Speaking of PC engine, I just bought Snatcher for it. There's a local video game University professor selling his consoles and games. I took the images from his listing and threw it in AI to help figure out what to grab, and it recommended Snatcher plus his neo Geo Pocket color

Nice👍👍

How good is it?

Actually not fun

The game in general was a stepping stone of what the FGC (fighting game community) is today. I don't believe there was much balance in damage calculation as you can end a fight within 2 to 3 seconds.

International got the better CD label =) Our U.S. release is very plain. Playing it the right way too with an arcade stick (Turbo Stick was the ideal peripheral back then) I'd have blisters forming within 5 minutes of using the gamepad just trying to throw a hadouken!

😆😆👍

Don't forget Noriko which also launched on that day is Hudson CD 1

Alpha System/Hudson Soft did a great job with this conversion. The main miss was not improving the control.
