The building itself was built between 1928 - 1931 as a factory for producing light bulbs in the city of Eindhoven in the Netherlands. It was abandoned during the ‘80s. After years of decay it was refurbished and now houses luxury appartments, a design academy and others.

Till the late 70’s myriads of Philips factory workers had their job here. The huge building (only a small portion is shown here) consists of white painted concrete slabs. Hence the nickname residents use: The White Lady.

On top of the part of the building shown here (actually a small ‘tower’) was a German Flak air defense battery during WW2. Now it houses some of the most expensive and luxury apartments in the city of Eindhoven. How things change…
