One problem, its a wee one, the video looks AI. 2 sided smartphone camera's no screen. Still like the concept.

Omarchy revives unused PCs, and this revives old iPhones 😂

That's cool. Make your own custom robot, connect your phone to it 🦾

I want to get the micro duck so bad, what are your thought on that Brian

Brain, where do we buy this phonebot? @grok, would happen to know?

Open design means anyone can copy this. The winner is whoever ships the best leg actuators, not the best phone.

The attack of the phones! :)

Oh, wow.

This is bullshit 😒 they had a 50 android phone and the video 📹 has a iPhone 😒 🙄 trash and AI goyslop

The project site for the robot in the video is UCLA’s RoMeLa lab released PhoneBot as a low-cost open platform that mounts a commodity Android phone as the torso for camera, IMU, wireless, and onboard compute. The body uses 13 Dynamixel servos, stands 48.3 cm tall, weighs 1.8 kg with the phone, and the hardware (excluding the phone) costs about $400. The site hosts the bill of materials, Onshape CAD, STEP assembly files, and assembly documentation under a CC BY-NC 4.0 license.Phonebot The describing paper is on arXiv at

Where to buy an iPhone 13 Pro for 50$ ? …

@Scobleizer

hope to see this as a standard platform in robocup, because then it could mean robot soccer everywhere.

Pretty cool

Interesting

This is phony. 🎤🥁

phones turning into robots feels futuristic but close

Looking forward to the day when my phone climbs the pillow to wake my up or goes to charge itself after playing, calm, meditative music from the distance!

How about a phone that becomes a chicken i want eggs

'Now where'd my phone go?!'

It is pretty cool. I wonder what kind of ridiculous use cases we're going to see soon.

next time it would be duo robot
