Fantastic. An MSP acknowledging the problem that we all know exists. Senior management basically flat out refusing to accept it. Any wonder morale is low. I’ll remember we’re fully staffed when I miss getting any breaks this weekend.

Probably the first time that I have seen an oversight committee sharply challenge PS leadership. However, I am enraged hearing the ACC be so out of touch, whilst failing to be open & honest about the issues officers currently face. Confidence in her leadership will be rock bottom

When she cannot hide behind her rank you can see she hates being challenged. Her lies to the committee over OBL’s are quite outrageous.

Greater Glasgow regularly runs below OBL’s and any boss who says it doesn’t is a liar!!!

Shifts running below minimum strength? Surely she could magic up an extra two or three dashboards to attend a code 40 or a couple of charts to go to a 67…..must be great being on a Monday to Friday 9-5 at the castle

Wait until they look into the resourcing of armed response in various parts of the country that are regularly being run below OBL against the STRA.

Shifts across Ayrshire have been running below minimum levels for well over a decade. The only time they were even close was a public holiday……

Thank you @RealStephenKerr for holding the Force Exec to account. We can all see the frontline is hugely under resourced. In my service (27 yrs), the population of Scotland has risen by 474,000 (over 9%), yet our establishment has not matched this. More being expected of less.

As a response Sgt I especially loved the parts where several times she said it was supervisors that should ensure resources were adequate...no bother let me make a few calls at 1am on a Saturday and magic 15 cops out of thin air

It’s a sad state of affairs when a MSP is having to try and burst a member of the Force Executive to get her to admit that front line resourcing is a disgrace.

Sadly it’s been decades since they did the pieces of work required to ascertain what demand/call levels are accross Scotland so that the optimum base levels of officers are truely representative of this . They are using outdated obls at present.

As a shift PS the numbers were okay at the time but time has a habbit of moving on. As an ACR Sgt the lack of numbers was blatantly obvious and difficult to manage

Good god! Painful watch!! I thought the magnificent, grandiose, highly skilled, highly acclaimed ACC Catriona Paton (KPM) would at least just to be able say “yes” to an MSP instead of trying to babble her way out of the question!! She is hating every minute of that! 🤣🤣

And let’s not mention that the current OBLs haven’t changed for years as they know that if the ‘data’ was current, OBLs would need to be increased meaning zero chance in hell of achieving them.

Police Scotland will never be allowed to forget the officers council staff and kennel owners that destroyed the life of Kimberly by first killing her assistance dogs, trying to kill her carer by a weird set up through Peterhead sheriff court where I was remanded when I had two soul and consciences but still jailed and attacked at once. Left with no medical care to die. Good prison officers are prepared to witness what the racists in uniforms did. They then broke Kimberly's legs as she tried to report the people who had set up and killed her dogs. Now the Falkirk Council have topped it off by lying to there back teeth in court. The court did SFA. Covered for the lies and evicted Kimberly all over again.
