What the people who say "AI shouldn't replace our jobs!" look like to me.

This is funny but it also points at something real. You can theortically achieve 100% employment if you give everyone menial jobs. Instead of using a shovel, use spoons. My interpretation is that productivity growth and quality jobs are at odds with employment targets

Ha, Keynesian entire argument was that it’s impossible to have 100% employment

This is basically ludditism pushed to its logical conclusion.

This corresponds to my experience visiting less developed nations. Someone sells you a funilar ticket, someone else opens a boom by hand, a 3rd person operates the funicular.

This is more so the classical economists dream, as they assumed full employment was the equilibrium not Keynes

Interestingly, under capitalism, workers class struggles drive up the cost of labour which pushes the further development of the productive forces, such as automation - in the moment is disruptive but ultimately reducing socially necessary labour time

Los Comunistas de la época estaban en contra de la mejora continua porque prescindía del obrero

@mattwridley Keynesian economics is just communism/socialism repackaged in a much more academic way.

And yet they all get a salary, a home and probably make children who study for an hopefully better future. Without full occupation they would be beggars and die in their 30s. Also they use their salary to comsume goods, hence absorbing the production coming from industry.

Reminds me philippines. There was a guy opening a shopping mall door for people. Not trying to offend, obviously could be automatic dooe but perhaps calculation was hiring a guy to open door was cheaper than installing automated door.

This is only absurd from a human perspective. Coherent, if they are mycelium. Even more coherent from the perspective of a radio wave: - every body becomes a transmitter, - every task becomes a signal, - every idle surface becomes part of the network.

there are labor shortage in production but labor surplus in other jobs also if there were this much surplus, why do the kosh brothers lobby for mass immigration and h1b visa? what they want is cheap labor, not labor in itself
