A lot going on. So first let me make the announcement that despite the DOJ and FBI deliberately stonewalling me for 5 years, I have retrieved (most of) my property that was wrongfully seized after January 6. It's mostly in disrepair, but I'll address that later. Today I had business to take care of in Congress. Framed as a domestic terrorist and insurrectionist after January 6, when I was only a comedian who peacefully picketed, I returned today to Congress in the wrinkled and torn suit the feds kept from me - ever the satirist. They should have just left me the fuck alone. Now with only a fraction of the property I had no access to before my trial, I can prove that FBI agents and vindictive prosecutors maliciously misrepresented my character and my motivations, wrongfully robbing me of years of freedom for questioning their regime, but again I'll address that later. I remember the names and faces of every person that worked to destroy me. Every single one. They're burned into my memory. I am not like most people. The more you fuck with me the longer I am willing to wait for justice to come to you. I have superhuman patience. I endured years of torment through nothing but faith and sheer tyranny of will. Judges, prosecutors, jailhouse snitches, backstabbers, reporters - I have survived all of their attempts to smear me, break me, and silence me. But I will be the one to write the history of January 6 and its aftermath, and their names will only be footnotes. If you were entrapped by the feds too on that fateful day, keep your chin up, because the torment we've endured must be documented for posterity and the people who did this to us need to be brought to justice. The Story of Wesam Mekdad “I am a Palestinian from #Gaza. I fled my homeland in search of safety and the opportunity to work so that I could send money back to my family, who are surviving under the horrors of war. The road was grueling and full of obstacles. First, I went to Egypt, where I waited a full year just to secure a Turkish visa. From Turkey, I attempted to cross into Greece. I failed twice, enduring imprisonment both times. It was only on my third attempt that I finally reached Greek soil. Once there, I was placed in a refugee camp for a year, waiting for a residence permit. But the moment I finally received it, my life was shattered again: I was unjustly imprisoned for four years. My trial was a sham, and it became deeply clear to me that refugees are not treated equally under the law there. Eventually, I was released. Seeking a fresh start, I traveled to Berlin, where I met my wife and we were married. Together, we moved to the Netherlands to apply for asylum. I truly believed that the Netherlands, as a nation built on human rights, would understand our plight. Because I am an innocent man and had absolutely nothing to hide, I was entirely honest with the authorities. I openly told them about my imprisonment in Greece. Tragically, my honesty was weaponized against me. We were shuttled endlessly between different reception centers. During this time, my wife became pregnant. We held onto the hope that the authorities would show compassion for our situation and for our unborn child. Instead, the hammer fell: we received a negative decision. My asylum application was rejected. I was handed a deportation order to Egypt and a two-year entry ban from Europe. My wife’s application was also rejected; she was ordered back to Germany. They told us coldheartedly that even if our child were born on Dutch soil, it would change nothing. The fact that my family in Gaza is trapped in an active war zone seemed to mean absolutely nothing to them. Desperate to prove who we are, I went to the Palestinian Embassy in the Netherlands and obtained official documents confirming my Palestinian nationality and the identity of my family in Gaza. I handed these papers to the authorities. Yet, it feels as though we are screaming into a void. No one is listening. Is this fair? Why is this happening when all I ever wanted was to build a stable, quiet life for myself, my wife, and our daughter? Why am I being condemned for a prison sentence I served unjustly in Greece? I had hoped the Dutch authorities would help me prove my innocence, but instead, they simply wronged me again. Where are human rights? Where are the rights of a child? Where are the rights of a woman? I have lodged an appeal and am now awaiting the judge’s decision. In the meantime, the stress, anxiety, and suffocating uncertainty mount every single day. I am constantly terrified of what tomorrow will bring. I have been stripped of my right to work and my freedom of movement is heavily restricted. Then, the breaking point came. One day, I received devastating news. In a flash of pure despair, unable to contain the agony inside me, I smashed a television and damaged the door. It was inside my own room—not someone else's. I harmed no one. The center staff called the police. They knew my wife was nine months pregnant. When the officers arrived, I told them myself. My wife looked them in the eyes and told them that I would go with them voluntarily and respectfully. I had not used violence against a single soul. I remained calm because I believed I would simply give a statement at the station and return to her. Yet, they treated us as if we were dangerous. They treated a heavily pregnant woman as a threat. Caring only comes from a heart that fears you.. Everything will pass and everything will end, but not everything will be forgotten.. I will never forget you standing by my side during these times when I really need you by my side.. My daughter Julia sends her greetings to you and tells you that she is very happy with your gifts to her.. The pictures below are of some fresh vegetables and fish for Julia. Unfortunately, I bought everything in these pictures on the black market. I paid $600 to $700 for some food. The price of all of this did not exceed $50 before the war.. Everything that money buys is not valuable. My daughter's life and safety are better than all the money.. As long as you are by my side, I will not fear anything.. My friends and loved ones.. After careful examination, we confirmed that Julia was suffering from jaundice Therefore, doctors recommend not giving up canned foods and looking for fresh foods for them. Julia is really getting better and better. This improvement is because of your standing by my side, my friends.. I am very grateful to every person who stood by me and supported me in order to bring happiness to the heart of my child, Julia. I would be very grateful if you would support me to buy fruits and more vegetables for her until she fully recovers My friends and loved ones... This was the hardest day of my life. My chance of dying was 99%, and the chance of surviving was only 1%… yet I survived. I came out carrying a small bag of food for my family. On that day, I was stubborn. I didn’t know the meaning of surrender. Even though gunfire was hitting the ground beneath my feet, all I could think about was running, just running until I reached the place where they were distributing what they call American aid… aid of humiliation and death. But I made it. I survived. And I carried the food to those who were waiting for me.

Exactly 2 months and 1 day ago I arrived as a SAFugee in Utah. “The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart.“ — Helen Keller I have spent endless hours trying to find the words to describe what we experienced being here on the 4th of July 2026, and still the words simply cannot describe the emotions, pride, heartbreak and heart’s joy of that day. Tooele wow! You stirred up every emotion. We spent the entire day. The parade being our first ever will never be forgotten. The energy, the passion and commitment to family, loyalty, bravery and this great nation was felt in our hearts as we watched endless pride for this nation by young and old. Thank you for saying in action what we feel - thank you for our freedom America. We recognise and honor that it is earned by those who gave their lives so you and I can live this free! And to describe that feeling ‘free’ in words is impossible. My heart and mind is full. My soul confirms that there is only one better feeling than this and that is in the presence of the Almighty Himself. I am still singing. Today exactly 2 months and 1 day ago I landed in this great country. And I am more proud and grateful everyday. Wow this week has been full of awesome stuff. We are officially official. Our Utah real ID’s arrived. Thank you US Postal Services, thank you Utah and thank you America! I have applied for about 60 posts in Utah before I became official. Maybe this next week will see some success. That what has been set aside for me will come. I believe it will.

“It wasn’t my decision… it wasn’t a choice, but a forced one—imposed by hunger and the cries of my children that tore my heart apart. ‘Daddy, we’re hungry’… Their words were like knives piercing my chest, and I had no flour, no morsel to ease their hunger. I didn’t want to go, but what could I do? Their tears compelled me. Their pain pushed me to risk my life… I went to the aid distribution point—the one we all know is not a food line, but a death trap. I knew I might not come back, just like so many before me never did… I left, trembling with fear, whispering prayers: ‘Oh God, I just want to return to them—with something to silence their hunger.’ I arrived. The crowd was overwhelming… everyone was starving, everyone desperate, everyone gambling with their life for a sack of flour. Amid bullets, blood, and screams, I pushed forward… I saw people fall around me, each one carrying a small dream—just a bite of food for their children… I reached a sack of flour, being fought over by more than ten men. It tore apart from all the pulling. I only managed to grab less than half—but it was enough for my children for a few days. I walked more than 10 kilometers with it… my wound bleeding… my chest aching from the chaos… But I held onto it like it was life itself. Finally… I arrived. I saw my children… they ran to me… hugged me as if I’d come back from the dead. I didn’t bring them a toy, or candy—just half a sack of flour, covered in blood and exhaustion… but to them, it was a treasure, and their smiles meant everything to me. it has always been hard for me to really think about the Holocaust I can’t finish books or films devoted to it. I walked out of Schindler’s List I think of my family, and everything Nazis did to them. I’m still here because this was the hardest fan project we’ve faced in these six months. My patience and leadership were tested like never before to the point that I almost gave up in the middle of the preparation. There were nights I whispered to myself, “This will be my last.” I felt so pressured that sometimes I just wanted to hide and run away. On top of it all, I was carrying my own personal struggles, which made every step heavier. We took risks in almost every decision we made during this project. There were times when all we could say was, “Naniniwala kami sa Cheffies.” From tickets and props to the fan project and the fanzone everything was about risk and trust. Trusting the Cheffies that they would show up. Trusting the sponsors that they were only waiting for us to open our plan. Trusting Dustin and Bianca that they would see and hear our efforts. And above all, trusting each other as admins that no matter what happens, we would not give up on this. But it wasn’t just about risks. It was about sacrifices the sleepless nights, the drained wallets, the heavy emotions, and the constant balancing act between work life and fandom life. It was about choosing to fight even when we were tired, choosing to stay even when walking away seemed easier. Every small victory mattered, and every breakdown taught us something new. Looking back at these six months, I realized it’s not only about the events, the projects, or the milestones. It’s about the people who stood by me when I thought I couldn’t go on. The people I met along the way who turned into a second family. The laughter in between the stress, the comfort in the middle of the tears, and the bonds that were built in both the best and worst days. This is why, even when I wanted to let go so many times, I stayed. Because every hardship was matched with a reminder that I was not alone. Because this fandom has become more than just support for Dustin and Bianca it has become a home where friendships are nurtured, where trust is strengthened, and where love is felt. Can you believe people sleep under such structures? As a journalist, I don’t stay in the same place and I’m constantly on the move. Yesterday, I decided to go spend some time with my family in Jabalia where we had tuna and mayonnaise for dinner. I went to the bathroom and saw the ceiling covered in mosquitoes and the smell of sewage was overwhelming. The living room has a massive column broken in from the neighboring building. Somehow my family is adapting to all of this. Sharing a small bowl of tuna, surrounded by a horrible smell, walls covered in mosquitoes and somehow they still manage to crack jokes and bring me joy. But still, my feeling of helplessness broke me. I couldn’t bring more than some tuna, I can’t fix a sewage system that was completely obliterated, I can’t protect them from the mosquitoes, I can’t rebuild the home. Every night, when it’s my thoughts and the buzzing of drones, I wonder if the house will collapse on my family. On my parents, my sisters, my brothers, our cat and its four kittens. I wonder if the house will get bombed while they’re all inside. I don’t want them to die without me. If they will die, I hope it’s on one of the days that I’m visiting them.
