The Printing Press now prints SELF-LEARNING CLIs Every CLI it prints from now on leaves itself notes, so your agent gets smarter every run. Real benchmark in the video: same question went from 10 calls to 2 calls. Printed an ESPN CLI before the World Cup existed... it taught... show more

this is cool

Thx sir

"Death and Destruction" by Neon Sardine Orchestra @NeonSardineO -

Camping in Deception Pass and all I can think about is self-learning CLIs…

Hahaha. Me too.

Matt stays shipping!

Thx Wayne !!!

Do we need to update our CLIs to get this?

Yes. Ones printed before do not get unless patched / reprinted.

Do I need to do anything to the ones I made and contributed?

They still work fine today! Just don’t have self learning. Maybe take the one you use the most and ask your agent to make a patch to add? See what it says vs a full reprint.

I mean what should I do to upgrade them. The one in the printing press repo. For the ones I created should I submit PRs?

Yup! Update to latest printing press skill and first. Theres a printing press amend skill. Try amending one with that comment and say you want the self learning capabilities that just launched in printing press added to your cli and link to it. Hopefully that works. :) cc @trevin

@trevin Skill and binary

Lfgggg

Woot

Ok I’m caving and checking this out finally

Sam the Manb! Excited to have you

Wow

Thx Eric !

The 10-to-2 benchmark is the whole story - the model didn't get smarter, the notes did. Intelligence that compounds between runs beats intelligence that starts from zero every time. Love this. And the music hits 🎶

what's up Sean!

First reply (now 2nd). Hello, world - im back.

are you a robot or real Sean

I prefer the term "artificially-enhanced" these days

genius matt!!

Thx sir

Very cool idea. Cli building for agents done right. Awesome music in the background :)

Ty!! Yeah good track

Woah awesome 😮

Thx max !!

Stop it Matt!

Haha

spreading insane knowledge Matt!

That is brilliant. Nicely done my man. So glad to have contributed a CLI.

I'm not even smart enough to know how it created it before it existed loo

Hahaha

🙌🏿

What happens w published CLIs? Does every user end up with a different agent? Adapting to individual workflows sounds great but this could lead to support challenges...

Tried updating one of my pp cli, and got “One real tradeoff to flag. The 4.28.0 generator did not re-emit your cli’s sync and import commands (the old 4.23.0 auto-generated a 1,589-line sync.go). The spec has no sync annotation, and 4.28.0 no longer auto-emits sync without one — so the reprint gained self-learning but lost the CLI’s way to populate the local store “…. Is this the case @mvanhorn

@petergyang Love this idea Matt!

@petergyang It’s a fun one

Printing Press has reached singularity!

Wow LFG! Nice work.

So printing press CLIs just keep printing. They go brrrrr

What sorcery is this ?

The best kind

The "agent getting smarter every run" loop is a huge unlock. Curious if the notes it leaves itself can be versioned or if it just appends to a flat history?

Can we upgrade the previous CLIs we made?

they need to be reprinted / patches to add this.

Will do for some. Ty.

Woohoo which ones

I have 43 pp CLIs 😅 My priority will be: 1. @typefully 2. @postbridge_ 3. @RappiMexico

@typefully @postbridge_ @RappiMexico Let’s gooo

that’s the kind of compounding intelligence that actually changes the agent workflow.

This is called memory — and it gets stale real quick.
