“The problem with Glastonbury that it’s perceived as this rather left-wing festival.” Jon Sopel asks; can the BBC, which commits to impartiality, continue to be responsible for broadcasting Glastonbury?

@jonsopel Jesus Christ. You're all experienced journalists. The chant did not call for the death of Jews. Deeply irresponsible to put this out there as if it were a fact. "Death, death, to the IDF" is not a call for genocide. It's a call to END genocide

@jonsopel I'm sure they chanted death to the idf. not the Jews. this is a poor take @jonsopel correct me if I'm wrong

@jonsopel Seriously so what ? People who love music, the arts, literature, rapping, poetry, the spoken word, arts festivals, music festivals, visual splendour, glamping & camping, drinking & frolicking tend to be young, liberal, educated & (god forbid) fun.

@jonsopel Jesus wept, you can't both sides a genocide.
@jonsopel Perhaps it balances the distinctly right wing bias on their news and politics programmes.

@jonsopel Why are you absolutely dreadful cunts having to lie about what was said? The only answer to that can be your determination to scare ordinary Jewish people in the UK, and provide some kind of abhorrent cover for the Israeli genocide of Palestinians in their own homeland.

@jonsopel Why can't you cunts stop lying?

@jonsopel @jonsopel what calling for the death of Jews?! Surely conflating the IDF with Jews is one of the most antisemitic positions imaginable?! I’m a huge fan and even attended a live show - really interested to hear how this makes sense to you because sounds v antisemitic to me

@jonsopel Impartiality? The BBC? The one run by Tim Davie, and has Robbie Gibb on the board? That one? Yeah, good one, Jon.

@jonsopel Let's face it, there's not enough good rightwing music out there to support a yearly festival with a worldwide booming reputation & millions of fans. It's not about impartiality. It's about talent. Don't like it? Then bring up little Johnny fascist to be more entertaining...
