Almost seven years ago to the day back in February of 2019, I got a text in the middle of the afternoon from my good friend, billy d. washington. He informed me—a noted “Dawson’s Creek” fan—that he was working on a project with James Van Der Beek. About a half hour later I was texted the video posted here. Just an incredibly kind individual who was never about the “Hollywood life,” by all accounts. Along with the loss of Brad Arnold this has been an excruciating week of loss for us 40-something types.
