Through this framework, commercially viable infrastructure projects that are critical to driving economic transformation can be financed outside the traditional budgetary framework. This approach eases pressure on the Exchequer and creates fiscal space for the government to prioritise other crucial sectors such as health, education and social protection, while ensuring that transformative infrastructure continues to be delivered.

As the referendum lead, my message is clear. The status quo needs to change. For the past 10 years this federal Liberal government has introduced policies that have slowed down Alberta’s economy, prevented pipeline projects and undermined our province. I believe in a strong Alberta within a united Canada. In the coming months, with my new role as referendum lead, I will listen to the concerns of Albertans and ensure that we can address the root causes of western alienation and fight for a stronger Alberta within a united Canada. I am proud to be an Albertan and a Canadian. I will continue to call on Mark Carney’s Liberal Government to listen to Albertans and to take the necessary steps to unite our country and strengthen our province. It’s time to act.
