Probably because she came to this conversation in good faith, and did not prepare for this kind of “question piège.” The next US President (except warmongers) is supposed to help negotiate peace between Russia and Ukraine. Calling Putin names is not that productive for diplomacy.

By that logic she shouldn’t call Netanyahu a war criminal either. That doesn’t wash. Of course diplomacy is the goal but this reactionary need to just defend Putin bc “America bad” is bizarre.
