'The question should be, - why have the universities allowed it to get to this point? When we go on strike, we lose hundreds of thousands of pounds. It's not something we do lightly' Professor Andrews defends the boycott of marking final papers by university lecturers

Withholding final grades which prevent students from getting jobs and having a career after 3 years of a covid hit Uni experience, will not encourage students in the future to support the unions.

It’s absolutely disgusting that so called “professionals” are making the students suffer for this. They sound like spoiled kids having a tantrum 🤦🏼♀️

The professor makes really valid points about university finances but not marking student work impacts students, not the VC or management of universities. It is unfair for some students to lose out and not others.

Ed Balls goes on a minute long monologue to effectively say lecturers should only have the right to withdraw their labour when it's convenient for everyone(ie never), and to compare life saving medical care to an exam being marked a little later is disingenuous and worrying.

Students should get a refund on fees. No marks no fees. Simple

Absolutely disgraceful there must be another way. Leaving students stranded is not the way to go about it. 4 years of hard work, sweat and tears. My daughter has done everything and more asked of her; sticking teachers holding her future in their hands.
@edballs My son hasn’t had any lectures this term at Uni 🤷♀️ obvs still having to pay the fees. My older child lost so much face to face tuition with comb of strikes & Covid. Whoever is at fault it’s not the students and they are still coming out with £28k in debt - this has to be resolved

He’s a worky ticket ( google it) to start with so this doesn’t surprise me 1 bit

The question should be SHOULD THIS MORNING BE AXED and should schofield be investigated 🔎 🤔
