My brother in Christ. Your followers deserve better. I bear my testimony that my faith and my salvation are fully tied to the Atoning gift given to me by Jesus Christ. In fact, LDS is almost Unitarian in belief that you don’t even need to be a Christian in this life to be saved We fully expect those who were LDS in this life to be a minority in heaven just as they were in this life

Someone with connections and time should ask 100 missionaries what motivates them to do missionary work. I think we know what they really would say

LDS have a view of salvation more similar to Catholic but more merciful You don’t have to serve a mission or do any specific work to be saved You can be the thief on the cross and still receive all the blessings in the afterlife

This is such a disgusting lie. People go on missions for all kinds of reasons. But underlying it all is a love for our fellow man and a desire to have them know Jesus and God as we do.

I'm an active member of the LDS church, returned missionary, and I've never felt that I was earning my way to God and to be with my family through my service. This is so foreign to me. However, I have thought this exact way about the Jehovah's Witnesses who were preaching. This video makes me wonder if I've similarly had them wrong too.

A little advice: You have no idea what is in the hearts of young Latter-day Saint missionaries. For me, I served my mission two decades ago and still think about and pray for the people I served every day. It would not be possible for me to tell you how much I love them.

Actually I was taught that every time I prayed on my mission my future wife got hotter, had nothing to do with getting to heaven. By golly it worked.

No one sacrifices two years of their life to go on mission at their own expense to "earn their way into Heaven". They do it because they want to share the Gospel that transformed their lives with others. They do it because the Gospel is real and true.
