US striker Folarin Balogun received a straight red card in a match against Bosnia. Balogun wasn't supposed to play against Belgium today. But Trump called someone at FIFA and the red card was overturned and Balogun is now eligible to play against Belgium. FIFA's Disciplinary Committee utilized Article 27 to overturn this red card. This rule that allows FIFA to completely or partially suspend disciplinary measures. They placed Balogun on a one-year probation, meaning the ban will only be enforced if he commits a similar offense during that timeframe. I have not seen this level of cheating in a world cup before. I hope USA loses today.
