I find Carling always tastes crisper in Burton. The pipes from the brewery lead underground to most pubs in the town. Probably explains it tbh.

Different gas mix in Ireland. 75/25 which makes it softer (less co2). Standard in UK is 70/30 so more co2. Makes a big difference.

When you work in a bar in Ireland the first thing you are taught is how to pour a pint of Guinness. When you go into pubs in the UK most pour it the same as a pint of larger which makes a big difference and sometimes looks more like a 99 Ice cream cone without the flake
