No one knows how deep my love for Hidden figures is. When the movie came out, it was when I thought of quitting my engineer degree. Asked for a sign to stick around, this movie was it. And today I’m a computer systems engineer. I’ll never get tired of watching this.

This clip is from the movie, The Hidden Figures. The central character in the movie, Hidden Figures, Katherine Johnson, without her mathematical calculations, NASA wouldn’t have landed a man on the moon 🥰🌺👍 #WomenHistoryMonth

Katherine's experience: Unlike what the movie portrays, Katherine actually defied the segregation rules and used the women's bathroom in her building. She reportedly felt comfortable doing so and didn't initially realize the bathrooms were segregated.

This clip is from the movie : Hidden Figures (2016) As the United States raced against Russia to put a man in space, NASA found untapped talent in a group of African-American female mathematicians that served as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in U.S. history. Based on the unbelievably true life stories of three of these women, known as "human computers", we follow these women as they quickly rose the ranks of NASA alongside many of history's greatest minds specifically tasked with calculating the momentous launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit, and guaranteeing his safe return. Dorothy Vaughan, Mary Jackson, and Katherine Gobels Johnson crossed all gender, race, and professional lines while their brilliance and desire to dream big, beyond anything ever accomplished before by the human race, firmly cemented them in U.S. history as true American heroes.
