These "salties" (salt water crocodiles only live in tropical (far north Queensland, Northern Territory etc) estuaries - not in NSW, Victoria, South Australia. So, saying "Australian waters" is like saying, beware of icebergs around Florida or Hawaii.

The salties are only present up north of Australia, so if you're visiting stay out of the water because they're prehistoric giants.
