Friends, the title of my ministry, Word on Fire, came from our Gospel for today. Jesus says to his disciples, “I have come to set the earth on fire, and how I wish it were already blazing!” This is not the lighting of a cozy campfire. This is closer to, if you want, Sodom and Gomorrah—to fire and brimstone. It is a dangerous and divisive fire. Christ is the light of the world, the divine luminosity—but to the degree that we are still in darkness, we will experience that light as something difficult, off-putting, even torturous.

Friends, the title of my ministry, Word on Fire, came from our Gospel for today. California Wildfire Update: The devastation across the Palisades Fire, Eaton Fire, and Hurst Fire is immense. In the morning briefing, Fire managers confirmed at least two civilian fatalities and at least 1 firefighter injury. LA County Fire Chief said they simply do not have enough firefighters to battle the 4 active fires they currently have. LA mayor Karen Bass recently cut nearly $18M from department budgets just months ago. They are asking residents to conserve water as pressure in some fire hydrants has been failing. Reports of 1,000 plus structures destroyed across the fire area. This footage is from Pacific Palisades this morning. The total destruction is just starting to be accounted for. All fires are 0% contained and resources continue to arrive on scene from other counties. Fire weather continues through today. Buildings in Downtown Los Angeles keep catching on fire This particular fire is thought to be caused by a homeless person illegally living in the building There have been at least 3 other buildings that have caught fire in the area too, likely also from homeless lighting fires I have included fire footage at the end of the clip, this footage is from a nearby apartment, when watching you can obviously see how extremely dangerous this is and how many people could lose their lives LA has to stop voting Democrat, vote for Spencer Pratt

Firefighters described the Medline distribution warehouse fire in Tracy, CA as one of the worst fires of its kind and largest of their careers as smoke continued to billow Friday morning. "There's been distribution centers that have burned throughout our nation, but to have one over a million square feet, there's only been two or three that we are aware of…you can imagine it's a skyscraper laying on its side," Brian Bagley with the South County Fire Authority said. Why was there no alarm and limited water for the Lahaina Maui fire disaster? Tulsi Gabbard 🌺: "The alarms were not sounded because of this fire, and that was the number one question: Why wouldn't you sound the alarm system?" So, they are literally scooping water out of their toilet bowls and grabbing rainwater from buckets, trying to fight fires in their communities to save homes... There was a request that was put into the State to divert the water so it could be used to fight the fires, and there was some type of 6 or 8-hour delay before that decision was made... The fact that the people of Maui don't have control over their own water is exactly the problem. Both in this crisis but on a daily basis, where families are told county-wide there's a drought right now, you got to conserve water, be limited, don't wash your car, and all this.
