This is what it sounds like to talk out of both sides of your mouth: “I am the government, and I give you ‘choice’—but only on my terms.” I will take your tax dollars—money meant for public schools that serve all children—and funnel it into private institutions, that can pick and choose who they accept, and the vendors pockets. I will tell you this is about “parental rights,” but I won’t tell you that many of these private schools aren’t required to follow state special education services. I will say I support small government, but I will micromanage public schools with endless regulations, funding cuts, and state-mandated curriculum changes, while letting private schools take public money with little to no accountability. I will tell you that competition makes education better, but I won’t tell you that when public schools lose funding to private schools, they’re left with fewer resources, larger class sizes, and fewer services for the students who need them most. I will promise you “school choice,” but if you live in a rural area where no private schools exist, or if your child has special needs that private schools won’t accommodate, your “choice” is to stay in a defunded, struggling public school. EXPOSED: Hamilton Wentworth District School Board, Believes there’s 18 genders. Including other. So much so, they’ve surveyed kids to figure out which one they are. Parents are fed up. They complain to me, how they’re exploring homeschooling because of the constant sexuality presented to children. Yet, there’s no survey, asking parents how they feel about the education at the school board! Parents tell me they don’t like that there’s no time management skills being taught, no homework, and that the board is instead focused on sexuality, and adjusting resources based on answers to surveys with a laundry list of options for genders that most kids don’t even know exist. This has gotten out of control. This isn’t isolated to the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board. This is happening throughout Canada. To the point where parents are now either exploring home schooling options, private schools or Christian schools. They pay taxes for their local schools and are fundamentally being “taxed” again by seeking alternative education, that they now have to pay with their after tax dollars. Families pay into a system they hate, and do not trust, and then paying again, to opt-out. This madness needs to stop.

In the budget hearings this week, NJ Assembly Democrats had the stones to say criticizing leadership at Newark Public Schools is a "dog whistle"?! Let me tell you something: a dog whistle is a secret message, and the not-so-hidden message here is that if you criticize them, you’re racist. You mean to tell me your best defense for open bars, caviar, and trips to Honolulu is to call people racist for pointing it out, while kids, many of them children of color living in poverty, are struggling??? When 70% of kids can’t read on grade level and 80% can’t meet grade level expectations in math, when only 12% of kids who were supposed to get tutoring actually got it, when Newark allocates $1.4 million to a learning consultant who doesn’t even show up and then the money disappears, and we’re the ones being called racist for pointing that out? Hotel check in wait times are out of control in Las Vegas, especially at Caesars owned resorts like Horseshoe, Paris, Planet Hollywood and others. Its no secret that these videos put me at odds with the two major corporations who own the majority of the resort hotels on the boulevard but the only way we can improve the Vegas vacation and tourism experience is by talking about current events. This is the first impression so many of our visitors have when stepping off the plane and no one wants to spend their first night in Vegas waiting. While this isn’t always the experience you’ll walk into, it’s happening with more and more frequency. This is not the fault of hotel employees who are working with short staffs, but it is the responsibility of the businesses we spend our money with to create a better experience. Choose to book with properties who prioritize your vacation experience and those who utilize staff and technology to respect your time. These meetings are a joke. All we get is recycled talking points, excuses, and a front-row seat to watch how our tax dollars are being wasted. That's it. The more you watch, the more you realize how disconnected these elected officials are from the people paying the bills. As Mayor, I will change that.
