@vittorioangelon @mikericecomedy @elliotsteelcom It's a history podcast, not a struggle session in a Belfast pub, fucking cry babies.

@vittorioangelon @mikericecomedy @elliotsteelcom I love how they think they're making a joke about sarcastic understatement ("Hitler was fiesty" etc), falling about laughing at their own joke, while the fact that it was Dominic's joke in the first place goes completely over their heads.

@vittorioangelon @mikericecomedy @elliotsteelcom quite astonishing you didn't get the whole point of the comment was it was a dry understatement used as a joke.... i.e., precisely what you say here about Hitler

The best new tech and business podcasts of 2024. Plus, podcasting's $400 million man.

@vittorioangelon @mikericecomedy @elliotsteelcom It seems dry understatement is a bit lost on these lads-with-terrible-haircuts. What Sandbrook is actually saying, pretty obviously, is that Cromwell was much, much, much more than just "robust". Too subtle for you kids?

@vittorioangelon @mikericecomedy @elliotsteelcom That’s literally the joke? If you listen to their podcast that’s just how they talk about history, getting pissed about it just because they’re joking about something you care about is such crybaby behavior

@vittorioangelon @mikericecomedy @elliotsteelcom We all know Cromwell was a don, lads. No need to big him up too much.

@vittorioangelon @mikericecomedy @elliotsteelcom The Irish are the Palestine of the west. They could just grow up, but they never will. GAF

@vittorioangelon @mikericecomedy @elliotsteelcom I think the Real Dictators podcast did a pretty accurate and informative 4 part series on the life of Cromwell.

@vittorioangelon @mikericecomedy @elliotsteelcom Are these guys even against the current plantations and ethnic cleansing of Ireland?

@vittorioangelon @mikericecomedy @elliotsteelcom The Confederation were pretty "robust" to be fair, particularly against women and children.
