If he went overseas virtually every single person would see him as Australian because of the way he conducts himself, his manner of speech, his culture. He’s one of the most Australian people to ever exist. The lesson here is simple: there is such a thing as a distinct Australian people. Over the generations Australians have formed into a distinct people and a distinct ethnic group through a process of ethnogenesis, and the fact that Bob Katter is seen by all people to be Australian is proof of that fact. We are called to stand against hatred, defend truth, and live in a way that blesses those around us. Our lives are connected, and what affects one affects all. Freedom is not absolute, nor is it free. It demands vigilance, responsibility, and moral courage. If we fail to use our freedom to defend what is right, we risk losing the very freedoms we treasure.
