An incredible woman named Kimberlee—a retired U.S. Air Force veteran who lost her husband eight years ago—drove five hours in the middle of the night to reach the rescue shelter as soon as it opened and adopt Ruby. Now Ruby has a new name: Ruby Anne. She follows her mom everywhere, sleeps in the same bed, plays with her two new canine sisters, and especially enjoys “keeping watch” over the squirrels in the backyard. When Kimberlee came to pick her up, she was even wearing a hat that read, “There is no place like home.” ❤️
