The Salsa really has been cursed this series. Sadly I think the thing that sealed Lewis's fate this week was the Atrocious song choice for this dance - this has been a running theme all series especially with George as well when it comes to songs. #Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing

Absolutely shocking music selected for Lewis and Katya this week. How on EARTH was this a Salsa number? Despite this clear hinderance, the reality is that only Amber could have knocked him out in a dance off. One of the worst decisions in Strictly history.

Song was atrocious! But if u watch his salsa in main show. He made 1 arm turn mistake, he was out of synch with the pro dancers once (rectified in dance off). It was also very clinical, a bit stiff, no latina flare. Salsa & #WestSideStory has plenty of that flare. Not his nite!

It is a theme of @bbcstrictly this year. Some of the music fir oarticular dances has been horrendous. Not sure who chooses the music but they need to be sacked

So many celebs get stuffed by the production team shoe horning a dance into a song or a theme. The whole thing was way to busy and loud.

Love Bernstein music but this was most definitely wrong here - they could have chosen other songs for different dances an impossible task for Lewis and Katya this week resulting in their sad departure

Think we need to get rid of themes and allow the pros and celebs to choose their music.

I’d never heard that track before - how the hell they danced that good to it shows how brilliant they BOTH are ! Definitely didn’t help them

That must be so difficult to dance to. Such a difficult dance. Absolute farce that the 2 best dance couples were in the dance off.

When I heard they were doing Salsa to West Side Story. I thought it would be to ‘America’. Which could’ve been amazing. When this music started I was shocked, then the routine was so hectic, it never gave Lewis the chance to showcase his strengths. He was running to keep up.

The music choices have been abysmal. Most didn’t match the dances. Each year @bbcstrictly has changed, trying to update, I fear, they’ve gone too far. I’ve watched from the start, sadly, I’m done with it. It wasn’t broke, it didn’t need fixing. @ShirleyBallas @BBC

Even the costumes didn’t help. Right style for the musical but Lewis’s colours were hardly distinguishable from the male support dancers. It was too subtle a music choice as well.

Still a country mile better than the 3 that went through directly.....Complexity, rhythm, style, accuracy....Imagine Balvinder trying that....she'd be utterly useless!! A dance show where the best dancer gives way to the ones who are markedly inferior. Sums up UK!

I think george has had so much favouritism - regardless of how mediocre or uninterested he's been they've repeatedly pushed him for the final. I know he's a non-dancer and they generally go in with a narrative about certain ppl. But he's been the most obviously "pushed" in years

Yes I thought that and also the appalling costumes for Karen and her partner. It definitely showed this weekend who the producers were pushing to get through

Who chooses the songs? Surely Katya could have argued for something better?

100% it was awful and nothing that the audience/viewer could connect with.

I've read that The Mambo is similar to the Salsa. But the dance was all wrong, having him running around to come back to the front was madness.

I agree! West Side Story has some iconic music and songs. Surely one of the well known ones could have been adapted for a salsa.
