Only an independent CBI probe can uncover the truth in the Karur tragedy. There are doubts over whether the Enquiry Commission headed by a retired judge constituted by the DMK Govt would function independently & without any bias. A commission that is handpicked by a State Govt can never give an independent opinion. Even in the aftermath of the stampede in Bengaluru after RCB's IPL victory, the single judge-led commission set up by the Congress Govt in Karnataka blamed the team management for tragedy & absolved the state Govt completely. My comments.

Important points raised and we articulated by my colleague Dr Nishikant Dubey Ji in the Lok Sabha: In 2004, the Congress began the precedent of granting Muslim reservation in Andhra Pradesh. Although this was later struck down by the Supreme Court, reservations continue in Congress-ruled states such as Karnataka and Telangana. It must also be remembered that in 2011, the Congress abolished the SC/ST quota in Aligarh Muslim University and Jamia Millia Islamia. This is the same Congress that opposed the Mandal Commission report and opposed EWS reservation.
