The same people who reply "communist!" to my posts about universal basic income are the same people who want authoritarianism out of fear of socialism, because capitalism is failing them. If we had UBI, capitalism would work for everyone, and our democracy wouldn't be in danger.

So if you fear socialism/communism, you should be out here demanding universal basic income in order to make capitalism work better.

We don't have "capitalism." A central bank is the 5th plank of Marx's Communist Manifesto. Ours is called the federal reserve. It imagines $ into existence by counterfeiting stealing our wealth. And you want to continue that government sponsored fraud and theft. No thanks.

UBI would only increase demand without increasing supply (while destroying productivity) in the exact same way that increases in minimum wage were destroyed by inflation any UBI would be wiped out within a few years by inflation and the whole of it becomes self perpetuating and cyclically destructive.

The big problem...people don't trust the way tax dollars have been spent and used in illegal/unethical ways by politicians. So the idea of "don't use my money to pay for lazy people to sit around and do nothing" is the mantra. UBI, housing, and healthcare must is needed.

A National Dividend financed via monetary reform (not debt or taxation) is the true "capitalist"-compatible - dividend is a capitalist term - solution, not a conventional UBI. C.H. Douglas was light-years ahead decades ago:
