Movies are moments. Leave your criticisms about F1 at the door. The film’s final 10 minute stretch is an absolute “moment”. Javier Bardem’s casting in this film was so critical. Bardem doesn’t have the biggest part but his presence raises the film’s credibility, as does Kerry Condon’s. Director Joseph Kosinski is one of the top filmmakers in the game right now. He knows precisely what he’s doing & how to create these moments. What a film.

#F1TheMovie should be an Oscar-contender for a number of below-the-line, more technical categories. But the film’s success wouldn’t be possible without such a great cast. The casting here is excellent & the on-screen chemistry never feels forced. I can’t wait to watch this again.

X-Men: The Last Stand is the weakest of the original X-Men trilogy films, but it still has its moments. This film turned 20 this past May but the special effects still hold up relatively well, but none of that compares to the film’s ultimate strength- its cast. I think the casting here is nearly perfect & if there’s one thing I love the most about this trilogy, it’s the ensemble of actors pulled together.

Byron Mann, who played Ryu in Street Fighter (1994), revealed that one of the film’s biggest problems was its fight choreography. Although the cast had martial arts trainers, they didn’t fully understand that each Street Fighter character had a distinct fighting style, so many of the fights ended up looking too similar. Mann also recalled that his sword fight with Vega was filmed with very little rehearsal. He had to pick up tips from the stunt performers on set—and was shocked to discover they were using real swords, which he felt put the actors at unnecessary risk. (Source: The Guardian)
