Security in malls in the majority of states are no longer allowed to "get involved" and are to only report it to police AFTER the crime is committed. This is just insane now.

As a former security guard, I must defend them. They are paid to observe and report, not intervene. I am sure the police were being informed, but for likely $15 maybe $20 an hour, no way on earth am I potentially getting myself killed over some jewelry.

A lot of security guards, are trained to just observe and call the police. They are trained not to get involved because of liability issues.

If I guessed California how close would I be?

That's the law in CA; no one is to interfere with "a crime in process." If I remember correctly, they're allowed to "pinch" up to $1,500. Whoever would have thought that we wouldn't be a law abiding nation. We have our work cut out for us - and relying on President @realDonaldTrump to lead the way. We're here, Sir. Say when. 💞Dolly💞

A special task force should set up fake stores with all sorts of ways to catch these robbers. - Lock them in the store. - Air tags on merchandise. - Start having pop up locations all around the country.

Maybe.. the statistics are right. When lawlessness seems to go unpunished. Criminals do what they do best. Look at all those males. #smh

Why bother having security? Hire a real cop and let him open fire on these thugs.

Because they’re rent-a-cops. They’re not actually allowed to do anything but call over the radio and call a real cop.

If that's in California, there's a law that prevents security and law enforcement from stopping criminals during a robbery. Now, they have Prop 36, so we'll see what happens with the overcrowded jails and prisons. Early release for hardened criminals like before is my guess.
