For anyone still confused: The Senate needs 60 votes to pass a bill. Republicans only have 53 seats, so at least 7 Democrats must vote yes for the CR to pass. Democrats keep voting NO, which is why the government remains shut down. They’ve blocked it multiple times. It’s really not that complicated.

The House ALREADY passed the clean CR funding bill back on September 19, and Senate Republicans have done EVERYTHING possible to end the Democrat Shutdown. Since picking pointless political fights plays better with Chuck Schumer’s radical Marxist base, he’s refusing to let his members vote to open the government.
