The Sequels for land before time definitely veered into absurdity and lost that magic of the 1st movie, but I recommend the 2nd one, its more lighthearted with songs but it has some genuine heartfelt moments showcasing the Sharpteeth as loving parents^

Woah, woah, woah, Journey Through the Mists, Mysterious Island, Stone of Cold Fire, Big Freeze and Journey to Big Water are pretty good. Great Longneck Migration is the second best film of the franchise for the return of Littlefoot’s dad

The sequels were still good in their own way. I would say, however, that a big noticeable dip happens after the 5th one.

I’d say the only thing different about the sequels is how they became musicals with more lighthearted tones. Tho many still contain emotional and tense moments x

I always loved this trope of portraying Tyrannosaurs as caring parents. It helps to make them feel like natural animals instead of monsters. The fact that The Land Before Time 2 did this long before Jurassic Park and Walking With Dinosaurs is honestly quite impressive.

While the sequels became silly, I still like them up until the 5th (5th because obvious reason)
