You can cheese them with the Railgun. Just fly away from them and get enough distance so the chance of hitting is higher. They can't PSAM a electromagnetic rod up their ass

oh ya its how i ended up winning this encounter, i figured out i can catch them with cannons from afar after baiting out that air stall maneuver they do occasionally

Yeah also if you are quick enough with it you can one shot Shadow 22 right at the start of the encounter with the Railgun. Either that or smoke him. It happened to me in my no damage run and it was hilarious

Oh yeah These shadows have a (bug?) where after psm they just maintain a missile deflection for a while sometimes All enemy planes have a thing where they can go super speed sometimes usually only when spawning though These guys also get magical missiles when doing psm

I shredded this mission and the shadows with the Mig-21b. What you do, is you outfit for gunpods, and when they do their fancy little manoeuvres in front of you, like a little dance in the sky, they stay still, and I destroyed two of them in one swoop. Another fun thing to do is use cruise missiles against the HSCA in Mission 22.

I know people hate hearing it but genuinely the best way to deal with them on Ace difficulty is to get better with guns, I even fought them with the gunpod on a MIG-21 on one run and that ended up being my best run at that point.

They are immune to missle.

Get good. Short range missiles and the FA-36 Game will change you. I beat them all on Ace in under 90 seconds
