Just an insanely viciously racist piece of US military propaganda

"let's move a few hundred thousand of them to Minnesota" -someone, probably

the real "Hero" in the movie John "Stebby" Stebbins was was court-marshalled and later found guilty of assault and r2pe of a girl under the age of 12

One of those movies that radicalised me against the US imperialist machine as a child. Embarrassing.

Believe it or not kids: this happened bc we tired to feed them. 😐

Why are you sharing racist propaganda?

This is what it’s like to use public transportation in a major US city today.

It probably would have been less of a mess if the US hadn't dropped a Hellfire missile into a meeting of tribal elders and executed the survivors the week before.

This might be the worst propaganda movie ever

"Gordy's gone man, I will be outside, good luck!"

guy with the pistol is a hero

Honestly, it’s basically a two-hour cardio workout for your heart. Ridley Scott really didn't want us to breathe, did he?

Imagine invading a county and thinking the population actually wants you there.

Ridley Scott threw us into Mogadishu with such brutal realism you can almost smell the gunpowder. 🚁🔥 🤔 Fun fact: To keep the audience from getting lost, Scott put names on helmets. In real life, it’s tactical suicide as it gives away your rank, but in film, it was the only way to not treat soldiers like disposable extras. 🪖✍️ Did you know? 🤯

They look like such wonderful people let’s move them to the United States and give them Minnesota😑😑😑😑😑😑

this movie unironically does the “tell my mother i love her,” “no, tell her yourself” thing, had me laughing out loud

This was such a great movie.

I was attending Lipsomb University, a Christian college in Nashville, when this came out. They held a free screening of the film after someone involved in the true story came to speak at the university. They edited the movie to silence every part with vulgar language but left in all of the extreme violence. I think about that to this day.

One aspect of maturing as a person, ideally before turning 15, is realising that movies like this one are actually not great – they are racist, imperialist propaganda, meant to make you sympathise with America no matter what simply because you think US soldiers look cool.

Gordy 's gone, man. I'll be outside

For a moment I thought it was Resident Evil 5.

This is pretty accurate to how it happened. Also the people calling this racist would be using them for edits and captions if the bad guys were white.

I never re-watched this movie because it upset me so much.

me in re5 remake be like

the actual guy it is based on raped his own daughter

We tried feeding them and this is how they behaved. People think this movie is exaggerated, but it’s actually toned down.

Look that hero, jumping in to the death to kill the white demon

"100 of them is worth 1 of ours" . Excellent depiction of reality, great movie

They are not as heroic as shown in the movie. In real life in similar situation they cry like biiiiitches 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

This film is some of the most egregious propaganda

What scene wrecked you the most—the initial raid gone wrong or the night fighting in the streets?
