nothing ever surpassed the weight behind EVA's movement. The new film look great, with more fluid movement. But the fight of the original are still peak

Rebuilds will not replace the 90s show but it doesn't need to, having the story deviate makes it different and enjoyable... I still rewatch the show sometimes... And we ingot my new OLED tv I played rebuild scenes and watch in awe how incredibly fluid they are.

This is probably the one scene I think is a perfect draw between the two. I like the look of the Rebuild Angel and the final death scene better, but the original has the colors and a drawing style I very much favor.

2.22 is more cinematic. Which was the point im assuming

1) 2.0 turned this scene up past 11. Visuals, music, acting… everything improved over thr past 14 years and this remains one of my favorite scenes in all of film. The original has its charm, but Rebuild surpassed it. 2) How fucking DARE you use the inferior Netflix dub! You belong in an asylum for subjecting audiences to this ear rape! Delete this and either reupload with the proper Japanese audio from 1995 (your date of 1994 is also incorrect) or the original ADV dub from 1996.

Honestly, the original is just way better. The new one isn't bad in most frames but there's a few where it's just recognizably digital because of the shading.

There's a reason they did that

original animation is far superior. english dub is terrible in both versions.

The limitations of the medium forced more consideration of shot selection by the director, thus often times leading to better direction. Now that you cheaply do just about anything, the direction isn’t nearly as good.

Rebuild in its entirety, especially 3.0+1.0 will be studied for generations. While I appreciate the old, the new is top notch. They managed to update the graphics while enhancing the realism and not losing the charm of the original.

It's great that Rebuild was able to perfect Hideaki Anno's ambitions, but the original was very innovative to achieve something like that for its time.

rebuild is shit compared to OG, on almost every level. Rebuild is some kind of michael bay style abomination.
