Mid March is peak baby birthing time for foxes, so right now these new mums are feeding lots of little mouths, so are extra hungry. And the dads are desperately looking for food to take home to mums who can't yet leave the den and their new cubs. So please be patient with them. They won't harm the hedgehogs, they just need food. A raw egg in its shell makes an easy takeaway meal for them. And dog or cat food, wet or dry, or dog treats, will give them the extra nutrition and calories they need. Use a heavy dish, or pin it down (as shown in the video below) as they will try to steal it. I always imagine them thinking, "This dish is magic! It refills with food every night.
