🚨UPDATED CODEX JUST GOT FREE ACCESS TO GPT-6 PRO AND GPT-5.6 PRO CODEX JUST GOT A SERIOUS UPGRADE Codex Web now lets you use your ChatGPT Web models directly inside Codex. < GPT-6 Pro < GPT-5.6 Pro < More Web models < Full harness support < Pro usage tracking in the launcher This basically brings the power of ChatGPT’s Pro models into your coding workflow without leaving Codex. And the launcher now shows your Pro usage, so you can actually keep track of how much you’re using while you build. Codex is becoming more than just a coding agent. It’s turning into a full workspace for running the best models directly against your codebase. Repo in replies.

GPT-5.6 Sol vs Fable 5 both models were tested on the same reasoning with the same prompt > 5.6 Sol one shotted everything in 70 minutes in devin > Fable 5 one-shotted everything in 90 minutes in claude code really surprised by Sol results here which one do you think won?

GPT-5.6 Sol just one-shotted a full Minecraft clone in 90 minutes. Not iterated on for weeks — one shot, 90 minutes, done. We went from "AI can write a snake game" to "AI can rebuild a billion-dollar sandbox genre".

I updated Codex Web GPT. You can now use all your ChatGPT Web models (GPT-6 Pro, GPT-5.6 Pro...) directly inside Codex, with the full harness and their separate Web limits. The launcher now tracks Pro usage too, so you can keep an eye on it as you work. Repo in replies.

Well well well, I'm one of the lucky ones with early GPT-5.6 Pro access! One-shot pages from 5.5 Pro vs 5.6 Pro. Can you tell which is which? Looks like OpenAI's finally getting somewhere with design:

MY FIRST GAME OUTPUT WITH GPT-6 ASTRA IT ONE-SHOTTED THIS CALL OF DUTY GAME IN 30 MINUTES!!! GPT-6 ASTRA IS THE FASTEST MODEL ON THE MARKET. THE SAME PROMPT TOOK FABLE 5.1 ALMOST 5 HRS AND IT CONSUMED A FRACTION OF THE TOKENS FABLE 5.1 DID.

Fable 5, Opus 5, and GPT-5.6 Sol were all given the exact same one-line prompt The prompt was: "create a single HTML file that animates the painting of American Gothic, stage by stage".

Did GPT-5.6 Sol beat Fable 5 for frontend work? GPT-5.5 got roasted for its frontend. Had to test the new one. Same challenge: one prompt + one reference image → Three.js 3D globe dashboard. Verdict: Fable 5 still edges it out. But at half the cost, GPT-5.6 Sol is a serious option now.

📣 OpenAI Developers's GPT-5.6 family is now generally available and rolling out in GitHub Copilot. GPT-5.6 comes in three variants: ☀️ GPT-5.6 Sol: the highest reasoning ceiling in the family. Best for complex reasoning over large codebases and demanding, long-running agentic work. 🌎 GPT-5.6 Terra: the balanced default. A strong all-round choice for everyday interactive and agentic coding. 🌕 GPT-5.6 Luna: a lightweight, cost-efficient variant for smaller, faster tasks and the lowest-cost option in the family. Try one, two, or them all in Visual Studio Code or the GitHub Copilot app.

GPT-6.1 Terra continues to advance the cost-intelligence frontier across our model families. It’s a significant step up over GPT‑5.6 Terra, with 50% lower standard API prices. In ChatGPT Work and Codex, your usage allowance goes further with GPT‑6.1 Terra than with GPT‑5.6 Terra—and far more than with GPT‑6.1 Sol or GPT‑6 Astra. For in-depth research or complex coding, choose GPT-6.1 Sol or GPT-6 Astra.
