Hydrogen water may be delivering unknown amounts of deuterium directly to your mitochondria — not depleting it. "Just stay away from it." Retinal melanin produces hydrogen gas from water photolysis. Dissolved hydrogen penetrates cell membranes easily due to its extremely small molecular size — delivering fuel to mitochondria without requiring a carbon substrate. The theory is sound. I believe the discovery of hydrogen gas's role in the human body is one of the greatest health discoveries of our generation.
