Certainly not better than a human that knows how to drive properly. In fact any good driver would not have got that close to the other car before changing lanes. Better than some but not better than all drivers, we have to be realistic. The more "realistic" people are with negative feedback the better the self driving cars will become, otherwise it's crap in & crap out.

Can people go to sleep inside a Robotaxi in long trips or take a short nap. If it does once a person arrives and he is sleeping. How does the Robotaxi know what to do?

I'm not sure. Maneuver was smoothly handled not the pedestrian on the road was thankfully gone by the time the car got there, elderly person may not have cleared the road so fast.

The last time Elon warned the Tesla shorts with the word “tsunami” was back in 2012 when the stock was trading at ~$5 per share, split adjusted. “I think there is a tsunami of hurt coming for those holding a short position, it’s going to be very unpleasant. I advise people to exit, while there is time.” Today, Elon is sounding the alarm again for the ones that still have the guts to continue to bet against Tesla. Except this time, Tesla stock is sitting in the $400s, with the company very well capitalized and executing across all the major businesses - EV, FSD, Robotaxis, Energy, and Optimus. I would not take this lightly!

The Tesla Diner reminds me that the future is worth getting excited about. This was my first time arriving and I couldn’t even find the words except ‘wow…’ This is exactly what I imagined the future to be. Charging my Tesla, grabbing a burger and drink, and watching a movie, all in one futuristic place, surrounded by the products and people I love. And Tesla just made it real.

Even my kids know that in a world full of Tesla Robotaxis, Waymo is dunzo. It’s really not that complicated. Waymo needs expensive LiDAR, radar, cameras, specialized hardware, detailed maps, and a massive amount of infrastructure just to operate in certain areas. Tesla’s approach is completely different. Cameras are cheap. Tesla can mass-produce vehicles at a scale Waymo can’t come close to, use the same AI system across millions of cars, collect massive amounts of real-world driving data, and improve the entire fleet through software updates. That’s where the economics become almost impossible to compete with. The cheaper you can build the car, the cheaper you can operate it, and the more vehicles you can put on the road, the cheaper you can eventually make every ride. Waymo might prove Robotaxis can work. Tesla’s goal is to make them cheap enough and build enough of them to be everywhere. That’s the difference people still don’t understand. This isn’t just about who has the better Robotaxi today. It’s about who can build millions of them, drive down the cost per mile, and scale across the world. Even my kids understand the end game. Tesla Robotaxis are going to be everywhere. In the world where Tesla Robotaxis are flooded all around the world, it will very difficult for Waymo to survive.

People who say BYD is beating Tesla in China are most likely the same ones saying Samsung is beating Apple bc of market share. The reality is BYD sells more units largely by flooding the market with cheaper, lower margin cars. While Tesla sells fewer units, but they focus on higher quality vehicles, better software, global scalability, and profitability. Tesla still generates FAR more profit per vehicle, has world leading margins, and owns the full ecosystem from hardware, software, AI, charging, data, and manufacturing technology. Market share without profit is just volume for volume’s sake, and in my opinion, that’s not winning. This is the same story as Samsung vs Apple. Samsung often leads in unit shipments by selling tons of low and mid range phones. And Apple sells fewer phones, yet captures the majority of the entire industry’s profits. This is bc Apple has premium products and the ecosystem locks in customers with software dominance and customer & brand loyalty. Trust me, no serious investor thinks Samsung is beating Apple just bc it ships more phones. Even Elon called this out years ago saying scaling volume is much easier than building great products that people love, make real profits, and at scale. This is excruciatingly hard. So when someone tells me that BYD is beating Tesla bc of market share. What they’re really telling me is they are clueless on how businesses actually succeed. Tesla is the clear winner vs BYD.
