Karp argues the winners won't be whoever has the best model. They'll be whoever owns their data, models, & compute. Field made the same point at Config. "The narrative seems to be software is kaput. But a lot of software will do just fine or actually even amazing." What lasts, he says, is software where the data compounds into its own flywheel. The data is the moat, not the model.
