is this the next thing after clipping? what’s the marketing tactic called on this platform? tiktok released a $NFLX competitor and they’re using ai slop to push the app this is literally INSANE, we’re living in a sci-fi age it’s no secret a lot of people prefer clips over full movies so tiktok created a platform for short dramas, basically like tiktok but just for movie clips but that’s not even the wild part most of the clips i saw isn’t from real movies, it’s ai-generated movie series, fuck creators are making these ai slop series like “fruit dramas,” and it somehow has a massive audience and tiktok is using its distribution moat to push the app so creators are making brainrot series and cross-posting on tiktok and the new app read this again: creators generating ai slop dramas, then clipping them and posting on their new app, like a clip of a clip this reminds me of the sora app that openai killed, but this might have a better future btw, 3 days ago, netflix said on their earnings call they’re about to release a tiktok-like vertical video feed for clips so yeah, this is probably the future before you even process what “clipping” is, people already invented clipping for clipping content

The reason: AI as a tool is a much smaller market; AI as a replacement for human-jobs is where the giant market story comes from. "The best-case scenario for AI, that $10 to $15 trillion market, will happen if ONLY it replaces people. If AI is a tool, it’s going to be a much smaller market than if AI replaces people. A perfect summary of the theft at the heart of AI training, and the importance of commonsense legislation that holds AI companies to account. To pull out two passages in particular: "The language of AI - scraping, training data, modules, LLMs - does not evoke the full picture of what is being done. AI corporations - many of which are seeking to entrench their existing information monopolies - are not stealing nameless data. They are stealing some of the UK's most valuable cultural and economic assets." "My Lords, whatever your party allegiance is, I ask you to make clear to the 2.4 million people who make up the creative industries, to their dependents, to the would-be creatives of the future, and to the citizens of the UK that enjoy and benefit from their creativity, that their property, their labour, is worthy of your protection - because apart from anything else, it is not ours to give away." Look at the hysterical anti-AI comments in this thread from people who have never animated a day in their life. They claim AI "undercuts artists" and "steals from real animators." As a real animator who has been animating for 20 years, AI is simply the equivalent of getting a budget and a studio. Especially as one who has been blacklisted from the industry, AI is the best thing that could have ever happened to me. "Independent animators are the only artists who are expected to do the jobs of hundreds of people." Did Disney, Bakshi, or Judge stop being artists/animators because they got a studio, and didn't animate every single frame of their films by themselves? The answer from these commenters would be "ofcourse not." So why is it any different when a head animator uses AI to do all the laborious bitchwork instead of poorly paid Koreans? If a director ceases to be an artist because they use AI, then that means a director ceases to be an artist because they use a studio, and only the studio of poorly paid Koreans doing tedious repetitive bitchwork would be considered the Real Artists. Obviously, this is absurd logic. I still have seen no one refute this, and I would like to see some of the people in this thread try.
