In Uganda, the STI minister will use more money for a tour to visit innovations that cost less to develop than the car they are driving.

Wouldn’t it be more effective to focus on the purpose of the visit and how this technical visit will contribute to the government’s goals of advancing science, technology and innovation, rather than showcasing vehicles driving recklessly?

You spend billions of taxpayers' money funding Kiira Motors, then turn around and spend even more importing a fleet of expensive, heavy-consumption fuel guzzlers to tour the country. Why isn't the Ministry of STI using its own Ugandan-made buses?

Imagine being the Ministry in charge of local vehicle manufacturing, yet your entire upcountry tour looks like a Toyota dealership catalog. Where are the Kiira buses?

Buy Uganda, Build Uganda is clearly just a slogan for the public. When it's time for the Ministry of STI to travel, they choose foreign-made luxury SUVs and leave Kiira Motors buses behind. How do we build Uganda like this?
