Just wrote about the last 24 hours, including how the students protesters are full of real substance, while everyone denouncing them rings so hollow:

@JoshuaPHilll Kind of buck fucking wild that universities aren’t already required to disclose the investments of their endowment to retain their non-profit status in the States and whatever the equivalent is in the UK

@JoshuaPHilll The fact that colleges operate without financial disclosures is so dirty. They shouldn’t be able to educate anyone without transparency. This is why education costs are so completely out of whack.

Those disagreeing with her demand of full financial disclosure need to understand that is not a naive demand to make. People should be confident that their local/national goods & services providers are doing so in compliance with society’s values. So no support for criminal regimes should be tolerated or they can expect a boycott, hence the global boycotts.

@JoshuaPHilll If taxes worked the same way, and I could know upfront how much I owe, choose where my tax money goes, or at least know where it goes, then I'd be more willing to pay taxes.

@JoshuaPHilll I too would like to know where my money at McDonalds goes to. Every time i spend money i would like a full report on where those funds end up. If not then my parents wont buy me anymore McDonalds.

Bright and articulate young woman. Let us all hope that she uses her capabilities for good. It is not always easy to see what is the comparative good and more importantly how best one should comport oneself to see that good realized. I DO wish these kids were a little more well versed in the history of this conflict though and how intractable it is given the rigid positions of the combatants..
