Exactly Bairstow doesn’t get to call over, it’s a lack of respect from Bairstow that he didn’t even look at Carey or the Umpires to confirm the ball is dead and it’s over, that’s just bad cricket from Johny

It was pre-planned. Carey noticed his previous action. It's solely bairstaw fault.

Complacency and inattention from Bairstow. He didn't turn his head to check what the situation was. Total bollocks from MCC tossers in the pavilion. Shameful.

We all agree that it was out. Just as we all know that if this had happened the other way around, many Aussies would be crying Bodyline. Did they warn him, like players tend to do before mankading? Or did they wait to get him out cheap AF when they felt the match needed killing?

Definitely out Kindergarten stuff from Jonny Neither he nor Carey can declare the ball dead only umpires can Here, comes the problem the non striker's umpire head is not down he also started walking before the ball hit the stumps it was up to them to declare out or not out

Calling over doesn’t make the ball dead, it has to be dead before over is called (Law 20.3) What BS is referring to is they’re lead to believe from the umpires actions that the ump believe the ball dead. Reasonable to believe they’re actions are because they consider it dead. 👇

Is there a PDP style analysis of Bairstow repeatedly leaving his crease early? And did any of those result in an extra advantage for the batters?

Utterly pointless piece. Literally no one is debating whether it was out or not. Waste of time. Debate is all about ‘spirit’ of the game.

Never has the mode of dismissal been more accurate to describe everyone’s reaction.

Everyone agrees it was out. But it was also blatantly crap not to rescind the appeal. It was literally 'unsporting' because it was an exploitation of technical rules that have nothing to do with the sporting spectacle that people had paid to see (the battle beteeen bat & ball)

Leaving his crease again and again to do what? Prod the pitch basically. Marnus was seeking an advantage in the 1st innings by batting outside his crease to negate the swing etc. CDG last year initially attempted a run, that's the difference.

Good point from this - without cameras this couldn’t have been called out as neither umpire was watching.

Do you think Carey should have warned? Just like some bowlers do at the non strikers end.

Aussies taking advantage of Bairstow's routine. Cheap tactics by the kangaroos.

If carey has intentionally slipped up and taken the ball to throw at the stumps, it would have been hilarious. It would have looked like a run out.
