Yes! It is the same effect that banging the broom down in the path of the rock. This is what Gushue’s second got in trouble with playing the Alberta team.

This is a great piece of advice. I have curled for years and skipped for many, have always told my sweepers to finish the stroke, or just clean, so debris doesn’t pile up infront of the rock, and cause it to move! Actually didn’t know it was a rule!! Thank you JC
