The system doesn't push this fund. It has barely any commissions and doesn't fit the India-only narrative. One of India's most savvy investors, S Naren puts most of his money in this fund amongst all the schemes he runs. Watch! Mail me to join our community. [email protected]

Even my ICICI bank RM doesn't recommend me this fund🤦...so I myself chose and went ahead with DSP Multi Asset Fund and so far, no regrets

This is Gold @ActusDei How can i see where other fund managers are investing ? TIA.

Thanks Prem. There's no platform which collates this info. You have to go to AMC websites and check the updated SIDs

@impremsagar Opportunity for leading apps and news websites to collate for its subscriber

@impremsagar yes :)

I am invested in it. I like the diversification. Relatively new. In 2023, it delivered around 18% and 11% in 2024. YTD is around 18%. ICICI Pru Passive Multi-Asset FoF.

Thank you for posting this; was torn between putting a bulk amount in Multi Asset IDCW, have now got an alternative as well.

@Arun_vish You're welcome

very useful! Thanks. S. Naren has been an amazing fund manager. Skin in the game.

Thanks Ashish. Yes, indeed

Thanks @ActusDei You are providing real good and actionable insights on MF and investing. Useful for self and also for sharing with friends and family.

Thanks Alok!

I do invest in this! Very well diversified scheme!

I have invested in kotak multi asset fof for last 3 years. The thing that excites me about the icici fund is international exposure and that too not just US. But I think in the domestic basket it is covering almost every stock through all the domestic etfs.

I've been following the passive multi asset fund since it launched and it has had a very smooth upward journey. Recently committed some funds to it after observing and will hold for the long term

This fund has been on my rader for some time but have not been able to make a case to invest in it till i don't exit my existing funds. As I have been looking for funds which has mix of global and local exposure. Surprising, have found quite a few in Multi Asset space. Passive FoF is an merging space like Zerodha, MO, MA.

He owns 10% of the units. Imagine that

Honestly, I would investment it if I had know of it before investment into DSP MAA. ICICI had another Passive FoF which they have now renamed it to Multi-Sector Fund. I think he is investing in at as well.

Yes, full list is in the infographic in the video

Good to know Neil, that both of our money invested along side Naren's own money. Thanks for sharing, didn't know while investing in this.

:)

But global share is decreasing every month

Useful information ! Other minor data point is that he has over Rs 200cr + generating about 15% CAGR! Definitely "follow the money" dude for anyone 😀

Thanks Neil ! Since the industry-wide foreign remittance limit is exhausted, will incremental inflows into ICICI Prudential Passive Multi-Asset FoF be invested only in domestic assets? If so, does that mean the effective foreign allocation may gradually dilute over time?

Only domestic assets and yes there will be dilution. Which is why one must also look at LRS and GIFT.

@Manish28DEC @grok , what does this mean?

LRS is the Liberalised Remittance Scheme by RBI, letting Indian residents remit up to $250,000/year for overseas investments. GIFT likely means GIFT City (Gujarat International Finance Tec-City), India's IFSC for accessing global markets without industry-wide limits on foreign funds. This avoids dilution in funds like the one discussed.

Here is the fund data from latest fact sheet. Direct expenses 0.8%, Reg 1.8%. Kindly check this out before making allegations against MDS. Performance is average. It’s literally investing in Nifty 500 plus a buffet of debt funds.

Interesting Neil. I didn’t know such a fund even existed till I saw your post. Any idea why this is ranked much lower than the active ICICI multi asset fund by @ValueResearch . Couldn’t really figure out

Nice, have been investing in this particular fund for the past year

Bro his wealth is so high that he doesn't need to take any risk... Simply blaming on distributors is not right... It may not be suitable to retail... clearly Naren is a high NI. What suits him may not suit everyone. Don't go by star names. Don't hero worship.

Some of your information is completely incorrect brother. He only runs 2 funds at icici by being directly involved in it. And this isn't the one for sure

I checked all the SIDs where he is mentioned as fund manager. Please verify

Have you not been following icici pru management? S naren himself said he only actively participates in management of 2 funds 🤦♂️ I expected you'd know this

My investors 25 percentage aum in this fund but as per your all distbutors are meaningless. And only media persons like you only had knowledge.

Thanks for the information However, 15.05 % returns for 3 years is just OK.

It doesn't do that well, in a raging India bull market since it is only 66% in India. But that bull market has somewhat dissipated. Are you saying it will come back in the same degree?

Interesting

@Sidharthjain84 Although it's a passive scheme with foreign equity heavy approach, it has very similar approach to your top 3 all weather funds like Icici BAF, Icici active asset allocator FOF & Hdfc active multi asset FOF. Seems like it has same approach in asset allocation.

Pointless to jump to conclusions. Being a contrarian he might move money to Indian market now since it hasn’t performed , and all blind followers would be left holding foreign stocks 😅

Active management of passive funds is also not good in long term Go for simple strategy no fund manager is god in macro analysis. Have consistent allocation in assets, strategic dynamic asset allocation may backfire.

This is one fund where one can invest without worrying about the asset allocation across different market scenarios. S Naren was advocating about this fund in many podcasts.

Nice one Neil 👍....Good insight !

thanks!

@sdhillon2112

If S Naren trusts this fund with his own money, that says more than any marketing pitch ever could. Smart money quietly moves where the noise isn’t.

Very insightful Neil. Could you suggest a few funds that have Magnificent 7 in their basket?

Thanks Abhiram. Well Mag 7 is a big part of S&P and NASDAQ so many funds have it (subject to RBI limit). But I would be careful about valuations there. @ppfasgift will launch their S&P and NASDAQ feeders soon.

@ppfasgift Thanks a bunch.

Fantastic one.

Thanks Vikram 🙏

How you claim distributor no advice this schemes you can confirm with icici ihad 158 folios in this scheme.

You may be an exception Piyush but as you know funds are sold mainly by the banking channel on the back of commissions

Thanks for clarifying. I naver check commission what I received.

Interesting insights.. looking for alpha in macro !! Really insightful..thanks

Thanks Arihant
