The tarps are out! Pitt has rolled out tarps at Acrisure Stadium to decrease the size of the stadium from around 70,000 seats to 51,000+. And Pitt has done this for two primary reasons. Number one: the stadium is just too big. Pitt regularly has between 40,000 and 50,000... fans on average show up to football games, which is similar to most college football programs. Playing in a 70,000-seat stadium every Saturday makes attendance look a lot worse than it actually is because of all those empty yellow seats. Number two: Pitt wants to increase the value of each individual ticket and improve the atmosphere. Let’s face it, it’s hard to sell tickets at a competitive rate when people know there are tens of thousands of empty seats available to purchase. And having people spread out all over the place looks pretty bad and causes the game-day atmosphere to feel a bit emptier and less energized. "I know there's a lot of people that are skeptical and maybe hurt by the exodus of players but the reality is they were coming to Iowa State to support Iowa State. (We still) have a football team here that will be extremely competitive and wants to play and represent something bigger than themselves... we've got a ton of opportunities here to make an impact, especially in the first five weeks of the season to be in the stadium and to make a huge impact with volume and noise and make it chaotic."

People really need to stop using the betting market as a poll, because the truth is the betting market this far out is never going to be accurate for multiple reasons. Number one: A lot of people make bets on emotions, not data. Number two: It’s incredibly easy to manipulate the market for pump and dumps. Number three: It’s even easier for people with a lot of money who want to control the narrative to manipulate the market for political messaging. The bottom line is, the most accurate a betting market is when it comes to political candidates, is the day of the election, and the further out from Election Day it is, the more inaccurate it will be.
