When we first started Tech Week, it was right after COVID, and we saw so many founders relocating outside the Bay Area to cities all over the US. That first year, SF Tech Week was actually the smallest. This year, it’s set to be the largest. We’ve doubled the number of SF events at launch year over year, a clear signal showing just how much the AI wave is fueling the city’s growth. Here is an update about my health and some info about a fun event to participate in, happening next month: As many of you will know, Tour de Cure is an organisation very close to my heart. On Sunday 9th November they will be hosting their inaugural Step Out for Cancer event in Sydney. This event is in support of the new Minderoo Children’s Comprehensive Cancer Centre and, as well as raising vital funds, it’s also about celebrating the opening of a world class facility that will help save the lives of children with cancer. The event has a 6km family-friendly walk, going pitch side and behind-the-scenes at Allianz Stadium and the SCG; and 5km & 10km run options housed at Randwick Racecourse with exclusive access to areas closed to the public on race day. Your favourite teams - Sydney FC, Sydney Sixers, GWS Giants, Roosters and Rabbitohs – will be activating along the route and there will be a post event finale with music from Furnace and the Fundamentals and The Voice finalists, as well as entertainment for the kids. Next week we may all want to move to Canada! A large and in-charge heat dome will smother the eastern half of the US. Feels like temps will peak between 100-115 degrees across a huge expanse of area. Both the size and longevity of the event will be impressive - 1/2 the nation and a full week of summer swelter! But - if we are being honest - the intensity of the #heatwave will not be historic - it will not be an unprecedented event. Still record highs temps in the 95-103 range will be widespread. But for a change #Florida will be cooler than most of the nation!
